The New York Times has reported in an interview with John Pleasants (co-President of Disney Interactive) that the much-anticipated Disney Infinity game-launch will be pushed back until August 18 of this year for North America (as opposed to June 18). (Internationally, the game will launch on August 20.)
According to John, the move was made to align with a better period for retail sales. We interpret this to align more closely with the holiday season - with the game launching in August and more character sets / power discs releasing right in the heart of the holiday rush. John also insisted that the date change has nothing to do with glitches or other issues with the game.
