Disney recently released a new game available in the iTunes app store called Monsters, Inc. Run and it is a blast for $0.99 USD (universal app for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch). In true side-scrolling game action, you collect coins, utilize power-ups, and smash “bad” monsters while attempting to rescue Boo.

The graphics are great and the bright colors really pop off the screen as you run through 48 levels of action.
As a nice touch, you are also attempting to find Boo’s missing items – her sock, her teddy bear…and yes, her Luxo Jr. ball (Pixar ball).
One thing that we found really neat was that you could play as different monster teams as you advance through the game – you can play as Mike & Sulley, Lenny & Phlegm, Frank & Bob, and Chuck & Claws. Of course, as you collect more coins, more options are available to “buy” in the Monster store. If you’re too anxious and just want to unlock everything right away, you can of course buy extra coins and money to unlock items even faster.
UPDATE – I have been playing this game a lot now – it is completely addicting and it could best be described as a mix of Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog (with a twist) – it’s a blast!
