Underneath the exciting visuals and musical elements of Pixar’s, Sanjay’s Super Team lies a sweet story about compassion, mutual respect, empathy, and family. You may have previously heard Director, Sanjay Patel discuss the roots of the story and how he attempted to distance himself from his Parent’s beliefs when he was young (and eventually found common ground on his own journey).
In this fantastic behind-the-scenes “For Your Consideration” video, you really feel the importance of the story as Sanjay, his Father and Nicole Grindle (Producer) watch the short film together and discuss the impact of not only respecting each other’s varied interests, but coming together as a Father and Son.
When Sanjay’s Father expresses his feeling about a Parent’s wish coming true, it’s hard not to get teary-eyed as I think of my own journey growing up alongside parents I may not have always understood along the way (but likewise do understand now).
