Finding Dory has remained on top of the box office for three weeks running and audiences are continuing to support the marine-themed film. The film took the top spot (at $41.9 Million domestic) during the three-day weekend (July 1-3) and is estimated to take an additional $8.29 million on the July 4 holiday (total of $50.19 Million over the 4-day weekend/holiday). Dory beat out The Legend of Tarzan, The BFG and The Purge: Election Year, which were all films opening in their first weekend (box office numbers via Box Office Mojo).
